Red-throated Diver
A summer visitor to small high lakes at, or above, the tree line during the breeding period in the summer.

The nest is usually on an island or point and is constructed from a mound of available vegetation. They feed off small fish which they dive for, often on a larger nearby lake. They can remain submerged for a minute.

The sexes are alike and have a red throat patch in the summer only.
