Bog Myrtle
Quite rare in wet and boggy areas in the wooded valleys and rarely growing above 500m.

It is an aromatic plant. The 5cm leaves are serrated at the top and narrow to the base.

They are dioecious with male and female catkins on different bushes. They appear in May on the previous years shoots with no leaves. The bushes may change sex from year to year. Pollinated by insects, the resulting seeds are wind dispersed.
