A common resident found in the aboreal zone, especially the mountain birch zone, where they are often seen darting through the trees.
The nest is built by the female of grass and earth in a bush or the root plate of a fallen tree. Their food is insects, worms, slugs and berries.
Outside the breeding season they are quite gregarious. Both male and females are alike.
