Gravel track for 4km then, not always obvious, marked path. |
Follow the gravel track along the bottom of the gorge-like Utladalen valley crossing four bridges over the raging torrent for 5km until you come to the clearing of Vetti Farm. Follow the track up to the Farm and then descend steeply down the path on the other side of the knoll to the river again where there is a wire bridge.
At the bridge a path on the east side leads north for half an hour to the bottom of Vettisfossen, the highest waterfall in Scandinavia and well worth the detour.
Cross the bridge to the west side of the river Utla and start the infamous Brendeteigen ascent: 600 relentless metres, much on boulders, up the side of the gorge. Eventually, the not always obvious path levels off and after a pleasant two kilometres joins the path Hu.13.
From this junction there is only a further, easy kilometre to the Stølsmaradalen cabin.
