Scandinavian Mountains over 2000 metres - James Baxter
Areas › Smørstabb Massif › Stetind › Alternative Routes
Logistically, Stetind could not be easier. The large Leirvassbu cabin in its picturesque and dramatic setting beside Leirvannet lake is the ideal starting point; and is a perfect base to do many other Scandinavian mountains over 2000 metres in the area.
Although Stetind is probably best done in the summer, a winter ascent is also possible but the arête between the south and main top can be tricky and ice-axe and crampons are advised.
