Snøhetta, one of the best known mountains in Norway, is simple to climb from Reinheim or Snøheim in the Spring or Summer. There are no facilities at Snøheim however, it is a closed cabin at the end of the road and there is a 6 km walk to Reinheim (further in spring with blocked roads).

The impressive ridge of Snøhetta and its 4 tops is a classic, but demanding, traverseFrom the top of Snøhetta there are 3 possible descents all of about the same distance and effort; 1 to Snøheim road head, 2 to Reinheim lodge, 3 to Åmotsdal cabin. It therefore makes sense to climb Snøhetta if going from one of these locations to another, especially Snøheim to Åmotsdal cabin, instead of the low level alternative.
