Siskin
A common resident found in the valleys but venturing up to the highest conifers in the summer. In the winter it retreats to the deciduous valleys, to the alders and birch.

The nest is usually high up in conifer trees and is a small cup of twigs. The siskin eats tree seeds, predominantly conifers in the summer and alder in the winter.

Often in flocks, sometimes mixed with redpoll flocks.
