Emberiza citrinella, Yellowhammer, Gulspurv. 17cm.
An uncommon resident of the wooded valleys surrounding the mountains, especially in clearings and cultivated land.
The nest is a cup of grass near or on the ground at the base of a bush. They eat insects, seeds and berries.
Outside the breeding season they are quite gregarious and form flocks. The female is quite similar to the male but a paler yellow colour.
